Blacklist Support Group - Dave Smith

"The trade union movement is at a crossroads.

Covid has exposed the inequalities of society -- these are not openly discussed.

It is often said, however, that we cannot go back to the way it was before the pandemic... but we will.

Just because we have more knowledge doesn't mean things will change. Knowledge is not power... it's only potential power.

We need a trade union movement that goes beyond only doing what the state allows us to do.

We can't rely on lawyers, MPs, and general secretaries. There is no knight in shining armour... we must effect change ourselves. The rank and file must take ownership of our own destinies.

We must decide whether we are going to operate within constraints or operate with rank and file militancy."
